Bill Collirus and Ferrell Anderson.SCHIFFERDECKER GOLF FEES ARE INCREASEDMembers of the park board last night voted to increase* greens fees at Sehifferdecker municipal golf course to 40 cents, the added 5 cents to be impounded in a special improvement fund that will be used either to enlarge the clubhouse or improve the course.The fee increase will be effective January 1. It was voted on the recommendation of the improvement committee. The board, in a written reeomendation, suggested enlargement of the clubhouse on the north side.The vote for the increase was 5 to 2. Wade Kurtz, secretary, and L. S. McKee, chairman of the golf committee, opposed.The board also voted $120 to hire a greens foreman during the eight months between March 1 and November 1.The increase is the second in greens fees in three years. In 1937 the fees were hiked from 25 cents to 35 cents.
