Morris Trophy at Stake inSan Mateo-Modesto BattleCollege o£ -San Mateo brings its home football season to -a close tomorrow when the -Bulldogs host Modesto’s Pirates .to a Big Eifeht conference contest. „The game, slated for the Saa Mateo High school field, will .begin at 2 p. m.After a “breathfer” last week against San Francisco 'City college,’ in- -which, the Bulldogs were' able to conserve their strength against-'a far superior foe, San Mateo is - ready for_ an . all-outeffort. The Bulldogs are as healthy as they have. been in-recent weeks, which Coach Jesse Freitas takes^as a good sign.Freitas is expected to start the same 11 which opened last week’s homecoming game. The Bulldogs, without- a running game in recent outings, will probably take to the airlanes in an effort to improve on a 14 conference record,Modesto has run hot and cold in its conference games, but is still holding down third place behind unbeaten Stockton and San Francisco. The Pirates have a 3-2 mark.Coach Stan Pavko of the invaders boasts 11 veterans on his squad, with, tackle Proverb Jacobs, halfback Carl- Edling and fullback Jim Johnson the top performers;At stake during tomorrow’s game will be the Charles S. Morris memorial trophy, won last year by Modesto. The trophy, donated by E. A.
