Famous Girl Athlete Will Be Seen HereDoan Signs Babe Didrikson to Play With Mixed Professional Basketball Team.fRay L. Doan of Muscatine, manager of the House of David baseball teams, has banded together a mixed basketball squad which he believes will work into a crack quintet.Heading the list of stars be has signed Mildred “Babe Didrik-aon, the best all around girl athlete in the world. Miss Didrikson was the sensation of the Olympic games at Los Angeles last %year.The team will be known as Babe Didrikson’s All-Americans and will do its training in Muscatine, beginning Nov. 23 and finishing Dec. 1. After the training season the club will travel through St. Louis, Kansas City, Minnesota and then east into New York.Doan says he will schedule a warmup game with Muscatine Junior college here for Nov. 30 and will then meet Olson's Terrible Swedes here, the exact date to be announced later.Teaming up with Mias Didrikson will be Alberta Williams of Texas, another nationally known girl athlete; Dick Butzen, Loyola, Chicago; Byers, University of Ohio, considered one of the best shots in the country; Shafer, Dayton, six feet, six inch, 220 pounder; Carl Howard, Indianapolis. Doan says he plans on adding one or two more crack players.Miss Didrikson has been famous for several years through her athletic endeavors. She stars at basketball, golf, track and many other sports. Her name has been heralded far and wide through her athletic competition.Doan says he has signed Miss Didrikscs for a 15 month term. Three months of that period she will spend with the basketball team and the remaining 12 in 1 other athletic comnetition.
