Police Stop Prize Fight.Hammond, Nov. 7.—The police stopped the fight here between Kid Farmer of Chicago and Carl Anderson at the end of the third round. Jimmy Bardell, the referee, gave the decision to Farmer when the police interfered, and Anderson’s friends started a demonstration which nearly became a riot. Trouble was prevented by the police getting Farmer out of the way of the mob. The affair was to be. a ten-round “boxing, exhibition” at 148 pounds, and the police did not stop it until it became a slugging match. Farmer had the advantage, and in the third round drew blood on Anderson, and was slugging him . unmercifully. Capt. Runde decided that the fight was becoming too strenuous, and jumped into the ring, terminating the bout. *
