“GENTLEMAN JIM.”•Asked Permission to Use the Y. M. C-A. Gymnasium at Indianapolis.Indianapolis, Ind., Nov. 4.—The Y. M. C. A. management was startled Monday when “Gentleman Jim” Corbett made request for permission to place his training appliances in the Y. M. C. A. gymnasium. Corbett is doing his monologue at the Grand opera house this week, and he wants to keep in condition to meet Jeffries some time in the indefinite future. Corbett was Questioned about his golf playing.“Oh, no, said he, “I simply mixed up with a few dubs and made a cleaning, and they said I was ‘it.’ I do not profess to be a champion in that line. I play well at times, but am too erratic to make much of a record. It Is a great exercise, however.
