RedContinued from PAGE IB15 goals this season and dished six assists. “Going into this season as a senior, I wanted to go out on top and have the best season I could.” It took a little tweaking to team strategy but Lewis and the Ravens did just that.Herringer noted the athleticism early in training and decided to adjust his team’s offensive identity From the first game, the team’s philosophy was to go all out for 90 minutes, never letting up and always trying to get in position, to score. In order to do that, however, it took a little more work — something Lewis didn't hesitate to participate in.“Sean put in the work in and out of the season to get better The more he played, the more success he had and the more confidence he . gained,” Herringer said. “Hejust thrives on confidence.” Being the-tallest guy on the pitch, it was hard to Lewis not to have confidence.“Being tall has its ups and downs,” said Lewis, who was a mere 5-foot-3 as an underclassmen in high school before hitting a growth spurt his junior year. “There’s definitely a lot of wear and tear on your body because it’s easier to get hit. But my long stride has definitely helped me out. A lot of people underestimate how long I am, so it makes it easier to win the ball.”This season seemed to be easy for almost every Raven.Eight out of 11 starters earned conference honors during the team’s 15-1-1 (8-0-1 in the HAAC) season.Lewis, Keith Parkhurst and Matt Denker were all named to the first team, followed by Justin Durbin, Kyle Greig and Tanner Fox on the second team.Peter Clevinger and Casey Smith made it on the thirdteam. It’s certaiiily made Herringer’s job a lot easier.“The guys are all fit, and that allows us to play the way we play There are games where I have two or three subs total sometimes. That’s how soccer should be played,” Herringer said. It’s also supposed to be played with the goal in mind of winning the conference. That one’s in the books. Now it’s time to try for that national tourney berth.“Only three other (Benedictine) teams have gone to nationals. We’ve got tc get everyone on the same page and get the guns blazing,” Lewis said. “As seniors, we are the engine room of the team. We have to get everyone playing and psyched.”Lewis, along with seniors Clevinger, Durbin, Parkhurst, Nick McClafferty Joey Montgomery and Eric Raplinger, will try to do just that starting at 7 p.m, Wednesday
