Doan’s School of Baseball to Open on Feb. 15Organization Established Last Year at Hot Springs Held Success-ful.Announcement was made today by Ray L. Doan of, Muscatine, manager of the House of David baseball teams, that his baseball school, established for the first time last year, wou:d open in 1934 at Hot Springs, Feb. 15 and will continue to April 15.Last year the school was held a success. 66 young baseball luminaries taking Instructions from such great players hs Rogers Hornsby, George Sisier, and Leslie Mann. Doan announces that this year in addition to the three mentioned, he will also have Mike Gonzales, “Dizzy” Dean and Lon Warneke on his staff of instructors.Thirty applications have already been received for entrance into the school and Doan has received in addition approximately 700 inquiries.Doan plans to form an eight team league next spring at the school, this league to play a 30 game schedule, during which time, the players v/ill be under careful scrutiny and instruction at ail times by the instructors.
