The stout Longhorn defense did not give up a 1st down during the first half as Paul Knight, Louis Merrill, Keith Andrews, Bruce Scovern, Ricky Arnold, Dwayne House, Steve Rutenbar JeffDetweiler, and Keith Rutledgeplayed outstanding defensive ball. The offensive line of Russ Rosen, Arnold Pell, Eric Sentell, Tommy Giddens, Steve Eger. Mike Magrill, continually opened holes for the hard running of backs Zylka, Buxton, Blair, and Randy Ake.Tremendous desire and ex-cllent playing by the Blue Devils made their their finest game. With just one more break or time tor one more play, the Devils could possibily have won this one. They were on theI onghorn one yard line as time ran out. All of the Blue Devils should be proud of their performance, just as all their coaches are proud of each and every boy. They are a better team than the record indicates.
