Auburn championTUSCALOOSA, Ala. (UPI) -Auburn broke the five-year Tennessee domination in Southeastern Conference crosscountry track Saturday by winning the 1979 SEC meet.Auburn sophomore Tom Graves defended the individual championshp he won as a freshman. Graves, from Orland Park, 111., ran the 5.3-mile course in a record time of 25:25.2.Teammate Chris Fox finished second, two-tenths of a secondbehind Graves.The Volunteers had won thelast five SEC cross-countrychampionships and 12 of the last 14.Auburn had five of the topnine finishers to overwhelm theVolunteers, who finished fourth.The Tigers garnered 23points, followed by Kentuckywith 80, Florida 85, Tennessee89, Alabama 121, Georgia 156,LSU 162, Mississipi State 185,Vanderbilt 282 and Mississippi 289.
