In past years the Tigers always lost to the Bucaneers. But this year Parker’s boys have upset all past performances. Austin invariably beat Laredo 47-0 every time they played. That was what the Maroons expected to do when they came down recently and were they surprised when the locals fought back like their name-saltes andcut the prospective score by 20 points! This is what is bothering Corpus, They know that the team that will face them Friday is a scrapping aggregation that will fight from start to finish and even though they will miss Ray Johnson, who joined the Navy, they will still be a threat to the Buccaneer standings. In conference standings, Corpus is in second place while Laredo is next to last, just above hapless San Antonio Tech. In season standings Corpus is fourth, while Laredo holds cellar position, but the Corpus Jpunch is not going by the standings in their preparations for the game. They saw how Laredo has* been revitalized and strengthened with each game ^ they play and the Tigers have just tasted their first victory and are out for more.Folio wing the Buccaneers game, the Tigers will have only two more conference chances to climb in district standings and they will certainly try theirdarnest.District 15-AA Conference Standing Team— P.
