Pullman Tech Upsets M.P.M.A. By 14-12 ScoreTwo Touchdowns In Latiuartor Do Trick; To lay at Culver M.A.After spotting Morgan ParkMilitary Academy 12 points. Pullman Tech’s Blue Raiders roared back in the final period to tally twice and when Sam Vasquez sophomore back, split the up-i ights on both try for pointswalked off the field with an upset 14 to 12 victory over the highly favored Cadet eleven.The visitors started a drive late in the first period (Which culminated in a score on the first play of the second period, Giannos go‘-ing over from 1 yard out. Right Tackle Kozienski broke thru to ■block the all important try forpoint.The Cadet eleven went fartherahead in the 3rd quarter afterthe recovery of a Tech fumbleon the locals 32 yard line, a steadydrive carried the ball to the 4yard line from where Giannosagain went over. An attemptedpass for the try fey point went astray.Whenu the final period opened Tech had possesion on the Cadet 45. After picking up 5 yards Pullback Gondolfi tossed a pass to Capt. Wolt who went to the nineyard line. From here Chiarello powered over for a touchdownVasquez made good on the try Torpoint.After the ensuing kickoff possession of the ball changed twice before Tech got the break it needed, recovering a Cadet fumble on their 19 yard line by Brennan right end.The Tech eleven, on fire now, was not to be denied and Gan-dolfa, Torkor and Chiarello smashed their way to the 4 yard line from where the hard driving Chiarello drove over for the winning score.The Cadets then started a desperate last minute passing attack but Leno Valente, another sophomore back, broke it up with nn interception on his own 45 just before the game ended.StatisticsTech made 8 first downs, gained143 yards frcm scrimmage. 20 onpasses, 58 on returned kicks. 10on an intercepted pass and pickedup 15 on penalties for a 246 yard total.M.P.M.A. made 11 first downs,gained 190 yards from scrimmage!3 on passes. 45 on returned kicks3 on an intercepted pass and 30yards on penalties for a 271 yard i total.Frosh Sophs LosePlaying their best game the T«ch Frosh-Sophs could not salvage victory and went down to defeat 7-6 to the Cadet Frosh-Soph of Morgan Park Military Academy.Tech had the ball on the Cadet l yard line with seconds remaining to play in the game, but a fumble on the last play cost them the ball game.The Cadets scored first and added the point to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The second quarter was scoreless. In the third quarter Tech came to life on the passing of Capt. Leno Valente and the running of Wolf and Meyers.With the ball on the Cadet 15 yard line Valente threw a pass in the left flat to Wolf who scampered down the sidelines for six points.
