NO ELEVEN AT WEST VIRGINIA.— ; Military Training Prevents Work onGridiron.Morgantown, W. Va., Oct. SI.— Football is likely to be abandoned at West Virginia ,University this year. This became apparent today when the formal schedule of routine was decided* : gp '• ■'* r ' -3* ” ; . ; - „ 4#upon, and not time whatever was allowed for football or in fact for any recreation for members of the students army training: corps. The men are kept busy from 6:30 a. m. till 9:30 p. m.» and though a limited number of them might have vacant periods from classes between 8 and 4, the only available field for dril and practice ■will be used at these hours by the vocational men.A request from the United War | Work campaign committee was received here today asking West Virginia to play in New York November 16 for the benefit of this fund, but it Is manifestly impossible to consider it bnless there is change in programme.
