blow upon Mr. Fields unexpectedly, and in a delirious moment he drew a revolver —the same murderous weapon that die* figured the proportions of his own left limb. Mr. Fields waved it aloft, and the assembled multitude was observedto disperse. Just then a policeman bap* pened along, and Mr. Fields was securely lodged in the city. jail. Mr. Fields having in mind the explanation of a celebrated man of l^cal repute, protests that it was not a revolver he drew, but a plug of tobacco. Without extenuating the serious charge against Mr. Fields, it is worthy of remark, that the white hangers-on, who really instigated the disturbance are fully as deserving of punishment as he and it should be dealt out to them. This scene took place Wednesday night about 10 o'clock. This afternoon Mr. Fields pleaded guilty to carrying concealed weapons, and was sentenced to spend thirt) days in jail, and pay the costs of the prosecution.
