One of th*so shows St. Georges Hill, the newest of the famous courses, which was laid out at much expense by Mr. lt;*olt, recognized as the world's greatest authority on golf course construction.Nothing of interest going on in the golf world escapes this wideawake teacher of the nation's millionaire sportsmen. He is a patron of a news-dipping bureau and through this, as well as through the dozen or so current golf periodicals, keeps himself strictly up-to-date on all the latest developments in the great game. His golf library is one of the finest, if not the finest on the Pacific coast.Seed mixtures is one of Professor Watson's hobbies. He has studiedthis subject relentlessly and as a result can give expert advice as to Just the proper mixture of seeds to use on the different portions of the Rea Country club course.Professor Watson recently laid out the famous golf course at the Hotel R aymond at Pasadena. One of the golf enthusiasts stopping nt the Raymond when it was completed pronounced the course the sportiest, prettiest and best course anywhere about Los Angeles. This man was from Cincinnati, G. F. Relden by name, and he holds the amateur record at the Raymond, having made Professor Watson's new course there in seventy-one. Mr. Beld-en is a member of the Hamilton Country club of Cincinnati.Professor Watson has had much experience in laying out many of the « leading g^]f courses in the country.
