Kryczka CflHfl Head; Addison HonoredTHUNDER BAY (CP) — Joe Kryczka of Calgary was elected president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association Friday, succeeding Earl Dawson of Rivers, Man.Dawson, who has served three years, said earlier he would not accept another term.Other members of the executive are Jack Devine of Belleville, Ont., first vice-president; Don Johnson of St. John’s, Nfld., vice-president in charge of senior and intermediate hockey; Roland Merrier of Quebec City, vice-president for junior hockey; and T. B. McCormack of Thunder Bay. Ont.. vice-president for minor hockey. Merciei- is the only new member of the executive.Under a new bylaw, passed at the CAHA annual meeting, Dawson now becomes a life member as does Fred Page of Vancouver who stepped down as past president.The bylaw says past presidents arc entitled to the position of life members but that the association still retains the right to nominate others.THUNDER BAY, Ont. (CP) — A former association president is one of two men who have been honored by the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association for their contributions to amateur hockey.Jack Roxburgh of Siineoc, Ont., CAHA president in 1962, and Bill Addison of Winnipeg have been presented the CAIlA’s 1970 meritorious awards at the association’s annual meeting here.Roxburgh was one of the founders of the Ontario MinorBILL ADDISONHockey Association. He joined the Ontario Hockey Association in 193a, becoming its president in 1932. He went on to become CAHA president 10 years later.Addison is the immediate past-presldent of the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association, having served as president for three years prior to 1970.Addison coached and managed both hockey and baseball teams in Manitoba in the 1920s and 1930s.
