BAMK BALL,The game of base ball between the Frederick Juniors and Crickets postponed from Friday last waa plated yes* terday on the old base ball grounds. After an interesting contest the game waa won by the Crickets by the score of 14 to 4. The Crickets were held down by Ksterly for two innings after which they fouud him and batted out a victory.Fleshman was in the box for the Crickets, and the Juniors were almost unable to touch the ball* The feature of the game was the heavy batting of the Crickets and the fine back stop work of Bennett. The Crickets made a fine appearance in their caps, presented to the team by the Btar Tobacco Company. The Globe remarked: “For a good, ali*round, home made club, the Fredericks are as near lo the top notch as any community can produce. She could readily have come into the Valley League aud made any club earn her honors; that Is, if she succeeded in earn ing any. With a fair amount of practice Frederick would poxale way above the ordinary club. The Frederick boys earned the hearty applause that was given their star plays.” The Mail said: ‘'Tee Frederick boys played better than was expected and fielded well.”A very interesting game of ball wasSlayod on Tuesdty evening between the now Balls and ibe Never Sweats, the score standing 100 to 101 in favor of the Snow Balls. The boys played 25 runs each Inning, or no count. The battery for the Snow Balls was McDevltt and King; for the Never Sweata, Bchull and Hann. The feature of the game was James Hanu’s wonderful pi cbing.The ex-manager, Mr. James Hann, who has been released by the Sou*h Street Sports, has signed as a pitcher with*the Never Sweats.
