McKinnon vice-presidentOTTAWA (CP) — Gordon Renwick of Cambridge, Ont. was chosen president of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association Thursday succeeding Don Johnson of St. John’s, Nfld.Frank McKinnon of Carman, Man. was elected vice-president and Ron Wallace of Saskatoon, Sask. was chosen to replace McKinnon as vice-president for senior and intermediate hockey. Norm Saunders of Brockville, Ont. was selected vice-president at large.Roland Mercier of Quebec City kept his post as vice-president of junior bockey while Cliffe Phillips of Newmarket, Ont. retained his position as president of minor ' hockey.Rcnwick said he has been Johnson’s understudy for the last two years and that made him aware of the problems facing the CAHA.One of the first is to select a replacement for Gordon Juckes who retires in a couple of months after 15 yearswith the association. Close to 300 applications for his job have been submitted including one by Don Johnson.Renwick said he hopes a new executive-director will be picked by the end of June.The CAHA also has to improve its relations with professional hockey.
