(Jarrett, who has been rained out five times in nine attempts lt;at Friday night racing at Metro- lt;lina, decided to pull one on the i weatherman. “Apparently it is * programmed to rain every Fri- 1 d^y, so I thought we would slip ; one in on another night and catch the weatherman off 1 guard,” exclaimed the former driving champion turned racing promoter.It didn’t work either.Thundershowers late Monday forced another postponement of the postponed event — even though Monday was a legal holiday for the Memorial Day weekend and many people would be out of work on their jobs and looking at holiday activities.Most drivers and their cars were already departed from the track when the scheduled race time arrived.So Jarrett will try again — this Friday night — and maybe the third attempt in battling the weatherman will prove fruitful.The $9,500 race for a top field of late model sportsman drivers has been re-scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday. The fastest 24 cars will make the 150-lap featurearound the half-mile paved Metrolina track.
