MHe was referring to a proposal by the CAHA that amendments to the pro-amateur agreement be forwarded to the NHL along with a request for a meeting to discuss the differences within GO days.Last year, at its annual meeting in Victoria, the CAHA voted to terminate the 10-ycar agreement which has been in forcesince 1958. However, the contract contains a clause whereby two years notice nf termination must be given by eilhcr side, and the NHL decided to hold the CAHA to the terms. The contract now is scheduled to end in June 1967.Both the CAHA and the host branch — the QAHA — used the dinner to honor past presidents.Art PotLcr of Edmonton and W. B. BoLh were cited forlong and meritorious service.»»I Henri Crocheticre of Slier* ! brooke, QAHA president named j Martin Conway, Boh Lcbel, Az-arie, Choquelte and Jimmie He Lannc, of Montreal and ClydeMcCarthy of Trois-Rivieres, as j recipients of the Quebec honors.At a plenary session Thursday , the CAHA approved a motion from its minor hockey committee that will raise limits by five months in all player categories ranging from juvenile down to the pee wee level.This was accomplished bychanging the registration date for all categories to Dec. 31 instead of May 31.On Thursday it approved raising the junior age limit by the same degree and ruled that any | player who reached his 21stj birthday on or before Dec. 31• of any playing year will be eligi-! ble to play a complete season as a junior.The age changes, which all become effective for the 1^7-68 season, allow juveniles to be under 19, midgets under 17, bantams under 14 and pee wees under 13 years of age as.of Dec. 31 instead of May 31.The minor committee also moved to strengthen control of teams below the junior level when it received concurrence from the meeting to refuse permission for such teams to take part in any international matches at home or overseas.They ruled that effective Sept. 15, 1966, no minor Learn, will be allowed to play outside Canada without the.specific permission of the CAHA.Gordon Juckes of Melville, Sask., CAHA secretary - manager, reported that the organization has more requests from foreign clubs wanting to tour Canada than it can probablyhandle.Juckes said Russia’s No. 2 team, the Moscow All-Stars, will likely tour Canada, with other visiting teams coming from East and West Germany and perhaps Poland and Austria.He 5aid Japan is interested in sending a hockey team to the 1968 Olympics and will likely attend the world hockey championships in Vienna March 18-28, 1967.The Japanese expressed interest In playing exhibition matches in Canada en route Id Austria.The general session voted to hold next year's annual meeting, which will run from May 22-26, in Saskatoon.
