Manager Porter objected and refused to play further with such a handicap. The decision thst caused the rupture was an alleged balk by Pitcher Lythgoe. Corcoran was on first, having struck out but Lents got the ball a little wild to first after muffing the third strike. Waggoner was to the bat; be knocked a high foul and then ran in front of the catcher and prevented him from catching the ball.Captain Lents was claiming an out on account of interference and was not behind the bat at all, when the urn* pire claimed Lythgoe made a balk, he sending Corcoran to second and the better to first.
