Paul McCracken, Larryand JRtcJc. , Swider and DougKirk ' thfc runners. The samesteam ran a 1:30.5 in the District Championship and it will take a better time if they wish to place in the top five at University Park today.In the first heat Norristown ran a 1:29.6, second heat Coat-esville a 1:30.0, fourth heatWarren a 1:30.6 to lead the 15 schools into the semi-finals.Rick Swider reached the 100 yard dash semi-finals with a : 10.5 and again the Beaversophomore; Will have to comeup with a good time in the semis to reach the finals. Two :10.0 were run in the trials and in the heat with Swider, Jim Dutt, Muhlenburg ran at 10.1 to finish first.Larry Swider ran a :52.1 in the 440 to reach the finals and in the same heat Chuck Butler Langley, ran a :49.9.Ed^Nowak was the first member of the Beavers to get a return trip ticket when he placed third in the high hurdles with a :16.3 to reach the semifinals. Three runners ran :15.0but failed to reach the finals and Howard Fugate was over 40-0 in the triple jump - same story. Kevin Valentine went out at 11*6 in the pole vault andin the shotput Randy Schmidt was over 49-0.Randy Shepler dropped below 170 in the javelin for his poorest showing of the season.In the running events — two mile relay and mile relay teams failed to place in the top two and missed a return trip. Jack Nichol ran a 2:02.4 in the 880hut the winning times were in-the 1:56 range.Hal George finished well back in the mile as did Greg Wolf in the high hurdles.The only other runner from District Nine (Class A) to reach the semi-finals was Frank De-nio, St. Marys, in the 220. Denio ran a :23.0. Rick Swider didn't compete in the 220 on Friday.—O-Two state records were set.In the triple jump (Class A), Ron Livers, Norristown, District 1, jumped 48-4in the triple jump to break the old mark of 48-0 set by Maurice Peoples of Wilkes Barre GAR in 1968.The other mark was also in Class A where Charlie Norelii, Emmaus, District 11, ran at 1:53.7 in the 880 yard run.
