They will go on to Region 6 tournament next.Track letters were awarded to Danny Pritchard, Brooks Simmons, Gale Griffith, David Webb, Mickey Combs, Buddy Jarrell, John Mooney, Doan Pettry, David Meadows and Danny Hopkins, manager.The track team won third place in the Raleigh County League. Danny Pritchard eanied medals for finishing third in the mile run, and third in the half mile run in State AA Track meet at Charleston.The Varsity Club Athlete of the Year Award traditionally goes to a senior and this year the boys voted Danny Pritchard the winner of this award.FOOTBALL letter winners were Danny Pritchard, David August, Raymond Webber, Brooks Simmons, Loren Daniel, Gale Griffith, David Webb, John Daniel. Richard Henderson, Bill Cook, Jim Clay, Sherman Clark, Mickey Combs, Kermit Pettry, Robert Holstein, Roger Landy, Keith Hall and managers, Bob Jarrell and Danny Hopkins.In individual honors, David August made the first team in the All-County Football Team at quarterback; Jim Clay, second team, at fullback and Brooks Simmons, second team at tackle.Letters and certificates for basketball were awarded Danny Pritchard, David August, Raymond Webber, Brooks Simmons, Jim Clay, Sherman Clark, Mickey Combs, and managers, Robert Pettry, Bob Jarrell and Danny Hopkins.In the 1962-63 season, the record w'as 16 wins and 7 losses. Marsh Fork came out second in the Raleigh County League. In the sectional tournament, it won the team sportsmanship award. Danny Pritchard made the first team on the AllOcunty Basketball Team, and Jim Clay made the second team for the All-County Team.CKEERLEADING awards were presented as follows: Gail Parola-ri, a letter and certificate; Doris Simmons, letter and certificate; Mildred Dickens, and Brenda Parolari, certificates.The Marsh Fork cheerleaders won the award for the best group of cheerleaders in the Raleigh County Sectional Tournament. The best cheering section awrard was also won by Marsh Fork.
