FIFTIETH YEAR.WINN, SALL ENTEREDRACES IN ALTAMONT*Fast Track Assured for Opening1 of Summer Program; New Records ExpectedThe greatest array- of speed demons including such headline-makera as Bily Winn, Johnny Hannon, Bob Sail, Lloyd Vieaux, Ken Fowler and Milt Marion, Will roar into action next Wednesday afternoon at the half-mile Altamont Fair grounds track in the Eastern AAA championship auto race.And, judging by the ability of the drivers and the power of the cars entered, the track record held by Billy Winn, daring Kansas City spac6 annihilator, will be shattered. Winn’s record for the course is 29 1-5 seconds. Wfinn, Hannon, Sail, Vieaux and Fowler turned the half-mile track at Reading, Pa-., last Sunday in 28 3-5 seconds or better, and that means that all have their cars tuned perfectly to assault the local track record.JThe track, itself, is now very fast.. Recen^. rains have pounded down the soil, and the work done on it has made it almost as hard as brick. Further work is still to be done on the course, and, barring bad -weather, the track should be the fastest ever.
