Cameron. the old stand by who did the twirling for the visitors, didn't show up at his best, being rather liberal in dis tributing passes and lacking in control, but he, with splendid support from catcher Morran. was more than a match for the occupant of the slab on the opposing nine A gentleman named Shear, a new arrival from Winnipeg, wearing a foreign uniform, assumed the responsibility f the pitcher’s box for the home team, while .lack Cory faced him with the big mitt. Grandview took the batting line first Shear got in good work in the first and second, the visitors not locating the home |plate until the third, when they made the circuit five times by hard swatting in the proper localities. Gilbert Plains scored 3 in thefirst and then hung up the slate till the fourth w hen they scored f. At the end of the sixth innings the totals stood 10 10 and it was a guess for the winner. wAnch however favored Grandview by a plurality of two in the seventh anlt;5 last. Umpire Johnston appeared to give fairly good satisfaction although he deemed it necessary to recite portions of the riot act at different stages and stopped the game once or twice in order to give enthusiactic fans a chance to keep outside the imaginary line sur rounding the diamond.
