Trailing 56-54 going into the mile relay, the last of the competition for the day, the Beavers came up with a third place finish while the Owls came in last to put the finaltally at 57-57.The meet, held at Clarion State College, which boasts of one of the finest track and field complexes in the district, was close throughout the action. At the end of fifteen events, six points separated four of the six teams entered. The Beavers led with 48, Bradford was second with 46, Kane had 45 and Punxsutawney 42. Brookville was a distant fifth at 36 and Clearfield “I was out of the running at 23.Little League Play BeginsThe 1967 DuBois Little League season will officially open this evening with a contest between Rockwell and Coca Cola. The game will be preceded by a Minor League contest between Jaycees and Taste Freez.For the past few weeks, youngsters from the Little League and Minor League squads have beenselling candy, under the direction of LL Mothers.
