Harper Honors AthletesHarper College held its first annual awards banquet last Friday night at the Carousel Restaurant with athletes from six sports being honored.The awards to the most valuable players in each sport were as follows: TomWahlund in wrestling, Mike Druding in basketball, Barry Johnson in cross country, Mike Elwart in track, Pete Hahn in golf and Bill Von Boeckmann in tennis.Since the baseball team still has some games to play before the season is finished, they will be honored at another time.Varsity letters went to the following:Wrestling — Whalund lt;Hoffman Estates;, Bob Trausch lt;Wheeling), Mike Ferguson (Rolling Meadows), Cliff Gaylor (Des Plaines), Ray Vitha (Des Plaines), Don Michener (Palatine), Scott Hupka (Niles), Paul Berwanger (Arlington Heights), Alan Oates (Arlington Heights) and Ray Steerbo (Palatine).
