OHSAA, was the method of selecting the teams to participate m the playoffs.The plan called for the principal and football coach of each school in four state districts to vote for the team m their district which they thought would be the most representatne team.Many of the principalsthought this system would turn into a popularity contest, Batessaid.On the basis of the letters received, the OHSAA decided to poll the principals of the state's 723 football - playing schools to | see how sentiment around the slate was running in regard to the playoffs. :The association received votes i from 92 5 per cent of the1 schools and the results were 319 for the playoffs and 350 against.
