Banks to Sponsor Free Attendance At Chiefs TusslePlans have been finalized for a sellout at MacArthur Stadium July 17, when the Syracuse Chiefs meet the JacksonvilleSuns.The stadium has been bought out by Marine Midland Trust Co of Central New York, which will distribute tickets free to all comers at its JO offices in Onondaga, Oswego and Cayuga counties. jThe bank has scored a first with the purchase of ail general admission tickets to a game ; and free distribution.Royal L. O'Day, executive vice president, said the move has been made ,to give the Chiefs a financial boost while at the same time stimulating [interest, especially among 1 young young people, in local baseball.We want the Chiefs to stay in Syracuse on a sound finan- j cial basis,” O’Day commented. I ; Our hope is that the outright purchase of ail general admission tickets for specific gameswill spread to other businesses and industries. This will give| the local club,” he continued, a real financial assist.” jO’Day pointed out that industry has in the past singled out certain nights at the park foremployees with tickets at re- j duced rates and this has been excellent support. The bank's total purchase marks the first time all seats ai the ball park have been purchased outright and free- tickets are available to everybody by a local busi- j ness.The ducats may be acquired for the asking by any adult at any Marine Midland of Central New York office.
