30 Magic Valley Athletes Will Compete in State Track Meet This Week-EndThirty athletes from nine schools are expected to depart late Thursday for the University of Idaho at Moscow with the hope of bringing the state track and field championship to the Magic Valley.Tliis hope is especially strong at Rupert, which will send five athletes with Harvey Conlin almost certain of winning the 100-yard dash and the 200-yard low hurdles. His twin brother, Henry, will be a contender for the 220-yard titte. The Twin Falls Bruins, which qualified the most athletes, eight,ter the state meet In the district Cooper, half-mile; Livingston, jave-evenls at Rupert last week, is given tin; Cross, relay; Rogers, relay; an outside chance of carrying off KJeinkopf, broad jump; eight ath-Idaho’s No. 1 track honor. In Byron letes in seven events.Snyder, the Bruins will have the favorite for the 220-yard championship, while the relay team of Snyder, Jack Crews, John Rogers and Herbie Deagle has a good chance for the crown in that event.The eligible athletes for the state meet are:Twin Falls—Petty grove, high hurdles; Deagle, low hurdles and relay; Snyder, 220-yard dash and relay;Rupert—Harvey Conlin, 100-yarddash; 200-yard low hurdles and broad jump; Henry Conlin; 220-yard dash; Van Every, shotput; Pollard high jump and discus; Farmer, high jump; five athletes In eight events.Gooding—Sehara, Carter, Sawyer, Rogers, all in medley relay.Buhl—Fuller, quarter-miie; Pryor, shotput; Burgener, mile; three athletes in three events.Jerome—Groves, 100-yard dash; Adams, 440-yard dash, and possibly Neaves in mile; three athletes in three events.Burley — Manning, pole vault; Bencher, half milep two athletes in two events.Oakley — Martindale, pole vault; Taylor, discus; two athletes in two events.Paul—Sanford, high hurdles and broad jump; Green, mile; two athletes in three events.Wendell—Jamison, javelin.
