KANUCKEL, BIGRIGG TO FACE SAFETY CABS AT PARK TODAYMound Assignment for Merchants Doubtful in Today’s Game; Eddie Plank, Former High School Star, with Cab NineThe pitching assignment for theCoshocton Merchants will go to Ka*nuckel or Bigrigg when the localsplay the columous Safety cabs atLake Park this afternoon. The game will be called at 2:30.The Safety Cabs, rated as the outstanding semi-pro club in Columbus, carry a rosier of leading sandlot per-formers from that city. It- will be the second Columbus team the locals I have faced this season, their opener having developed into a win over yue Columbus All-Stars, colored aggregation.Several .shifts in the local lineup are expected this afternoon. Jackie McCormick, who sparkled for the Merchants in the game with the House of David team Friday night, will again be stationed at third base.Four pitchers are available for the Safety Cabs. They are Tuller, Lawrence, Robinson and Sells. One of f the Safety Cab players is Eddie j Plank, well known to local basketball fans. Plank Is a former Columbus Central high star, where he was a teammate of Bob Kline, member of the Philadelphia Athletics’ hurling staff.Plank, McDonald and Dover are expected t-o patrol the outer garden, Tlie infield probably will have Dur-fee at third, Collins at second, Fenner at first and Wade back of the plate.The Merchants are seeking two new pitchers and expect to have one signed this week. Thursday the club will play its third twilight, game against the Pure Oils of Newark at Lake Park.? ,
