AGAWAM — Nicky Porto piloted the No. 69 Carnaro tolead. On the second lap, in turn three, Pete Fiandaca tangledvictory in the seventh week of with Billy Doyle. Lou Tabone inan attempt to avoid the accident skidded into the infield almostSaturday night racing at Riverside Park Speedway. More than 60 cars were in competitionfor the 20 qualifying positions in the 50-lap modified feature.The first of four 12-lap heats was won by John Anderson.Anderson was followed by Billy Greco and Bob Polverari.The second heat w as won by the track s No. 2 point-man Jack Lecuyer. Ron Wyckoff and last week’s feature winner, Lou Tabone followed.The third heat was won bv Stash Greger, followed by Don Spazano and Charlie Glazier.The fourth and final heat was won by two-time feature winner restart.hitting the track photographer and then back out onto the raceway. The Courtney-Sullivan I^nto pulled off the speedway, out of contention, with mechanical problems.On lap 27, on the front stretch, Polverari, O’Sullivan, John Fisher, and Glazier tangled. All restarted buy Glazier. On Lap 35, in turn three, I^atour, running second, spun and was hit by Ron Wyckoff parking both cars on the w reckers. Polverari was set back two spots at this time for jumping the green flag on the previousJohnny Lobo. Charlie Centinaro and Ken I^itour followed.The first of two 15-lap semifinals was won bv Anderson in his newly owned and freshlv painted automobile. Anderson was followed bv Bobbv Stefanik%W • ; +*in the sensational Mario Fiore Monza and Greco.The second semifinal was won b\ Charlie Centinaro. followed bv Lnfield's John Fisher and RedSeaburg.11k B Consolation was won byliMrOn lap 39 Don Maxwell andRoger Seaburg hit thebackstretch wall.
