The class AA meet also was held at Marysville, and Mount Gilead and had two thinclads qualify for the sfca/te, while tlhe team as a whole placed third behind Mifflin and Wattersm Last year's 140 class A state champ Mony Ward made the grade In class AA competition this year by winning the 440 in 49*1 at Marysville. Ward also finished fourth in the 100-yard! dash in 10.3. IMark Zwayer of the Indians qualified in the discus with a 150-7 heave, finihing first, andhe also placed third in the high jump.Richard Wiefoe of Mount Gilead placed fifth In the mile run in 4:36.0, while the Indian 380 and mile relay teams placed fourth and third, respectively.No one from River Valley or Elgin qualified for the state. River Valley’s Randy Christopher just missed, run-tiing the best time of his life in the 220, but placing third in 22.8. Christopher also ran on the Vike 880 relay team with brother, Jim, Kevin Ciola, and Steve Johnson. The team placed sixth*Elgin’s Mark Hedges finished sixth in the discus. The state ohampionhip meets will be held next weekend at Ohio State University in Columbus.
