Oilers defeatBlue Sox 8-5; Cardinals winFriday night games in lex:al youth baseball were rained out. In a Thursday night doubleheader at Sunset Park,the Oilers beat the Blue Sox, 8-5, and the Cardinals jumped on the Braves, 12-0,Robert Koenig was the win-ning oiler pitcher and Chris Junker took the Sox loss.John Zodrow's three-run double was the big blow in rhe Oiler five-run sixth inning.Zodrow also had a single, Wayne Fappe rwo singles and Henry Kramer a single to account for the five Oiler safeties.Armando Zepeda had rwosingles and I ony Gonzalesand Wayne Jacobs one each for the four Sox hits.Raymond Galvan got the lonesingle off Ihomas Renkcn in the nightcap. Marc Johnson was charged with the Braves loss.Renken fanned 12 in going the route for the Cards. He walked none.Included in the eight hits by the Cards were a double and single by Eddie Boepple and two singles by Renken.
