Cliff Downing smacked a grand slam home run and a double to lead Remacor to a 14-3 romp over Jerry’s Auto Body in 7th Ward Ward Slo-Pitch Softball League action last night.Juggo Frank was the winning pitcher, thanks to some more offensive help by John Quahliero (three hits) and Jan Budai and Ed DeBona with two hits each. Frank also helped himself to a single and a double.Jim Corab had two hits behind losing pitcher Bob Hoover.In other league action:Longo’s 11, Gab Nar Club 1 — Mike Carney had three hits while Vic Cubelhs (with a double), Joe Cubellis, Don Runyon (with a double), DaveCarnegie and Mark King had two hits each to lead Longo’s.Doug Rich was the winning pitcher.Jim Reisker took the loss, despite two hits each from Dave Joseph and Dave Richards.Slovak Club 13, Pronto’s 3 — Bill Jones and Jim Paolini collected three hits each to help get the win for Terry Boyles.Bob Lombardo and Don Zoltani also had two hits each to help tag Mike Natale with the loss.H. Wolfe Iron Metal 14, The Battery 5 — Tommy Baxter (with a double) and Ronnie Greco (with a triple) pounded out three hits each to help get the win for Duney Stevenson in anBrooks Mrozek blasted two home runs for the winners, while Shawn Million (with a triple), Dave Colella and Brother Harrison (with two doubles) had two hits apiece.Dennis Joseph suffered the loss, despite two hits each by Carl DeVetto and Dom Verdi.Lark Workshop 5, Mahoning Consumer 0 — John Masi scattered six hits to pick up the win.Bill Baker, Paul Passerrello and Ed Diles had two hits each for the winners.Joe Kosinski came up with two hits in support of losing pitcher Anthony Perrotta.Downing leads Remacorinter-league game.
