And Patty Davis of Clarion-Limestone raised the Discus mark to 12T-9’’.Tom McKenna of Kane wasnamed the day’s outstanding performer for his wins in the 800 and 1600 meter runs and McKenna received the James Manners Award trophy which was being given for the fourth year.Other double winners in the boys’ side of the program were Mike Griffith of Clarion who took both hurdle races, Marty Herbstritt of Elk Co. who won the Discus and Javelin throws, Lowell Wickett of Johnsonburg who won the 100 meter dash and ran a thrilling anchor leg on the Rams’ 1600 meter relay team and Jim Lecker also of J’Burg who won the 200 meter dash and also was on the 1600 meter relay team. The final event of the day was the most exciting. A-C Valley and Clarion-Limestone had the early edge but on the last handoff Jerry Mitchell of Oswayo Valley broke in front. Lowell Wickett of Johnsonburg was fourth in the race going down the back straight away, caught two runners midway in the last 100 yards and just nipped Mitchell at the tape to give Johnsonburg the race by 8-100s of a second.Patty Davis of Clarion-Limestone won the Shot and Discus, Donna Prechtl of Ridgway was first in the 200 and 400 meter dashes and Paula Connors’ firsts in the 300 hurdles and 1600 meter relay team put her in the select double-winner category. The day was hot and the meet moved right along in record time. Kane repeated as champions in each of the boys and girls classes and the Wolves are second only to Bradford for the number of District IX titleswon. The Class AAA Districts are Thursday at Punxsutawney.BoysSoccer League Has FineDuBois Red and Gold defeated Reynoldsville Burger King 11-1 in the DuBois Area Soccer Association League yesterday.Leading the winners in fho i«Scruggs came up with four saves to preserve the win.Lavas goalie Scott Farrell turned back six shots.
