SQUAD OPENS YEAR SINDHDewhlrst Nine Battle* Grand Rapid* Team At Local Park In Opener „Manager Tommy Dewhlrst'* middle states House of David traveling team will launch Its 1933 season Sunday in a game at the Eden Springs park against the Dixie All-Stars of Grand Rapids, crack colored club.Dewhlrst Is working his team daily and conducts both morning and afternoon sessions.The team will play several games at the local park this season and will also make two and three day road trips from the local headquarters. Already Dewhlrst has about 25 games scheduled.According to his present plans, Dewhlrst's infield will be composed of Bill Heckman on first, Sid Smith at second with “Dutch” Faust operating at short and Dave “Egg’* Harrison on third base.Carry Fite tftclmOf the four starter*, only Smith is without traveling team experience. Heckman U starting his tenth season with the local management.Eddie Deal, for seven year* regular catcher with a colony traveling team, will be the regular catcher, while the pitching start will be composed of “Shim Bemdt, “Lefty Tolies, A1 Wright, late of th* South Bend Twins of the Central league, Jackie Crow and Bob Hagen, former pitching star for the Western State Teachers' college club at Kalamazoo.Tom and Bob Dewhlrst will be two of the outfield starters and either Tolies or Bmdt will operate in the outer garden when not on the firing linfc.
