Union will travel to Kent liiKisevelt for district competition on Saturday. The golfer who survivedtheir sectionals last Friday at Avalon will aho advance to district pla before the team takes on Poland on Wednesday and Warren Kenned\ onMonda.The baseball team iaecs aunique situation As of last Wednesday, the team stood !-0 in their tournament, having beaten Youngstown Raven. To go with this tournament,the team is also in the midst ofthe Mahoning Valley Conference pennant race and facesMVC foe Poland on Tuesday before taking on Western Reserve on Wednesday.Finally, the tennis team will have their sectionals at Mill Creek Park on Friday, and then return to face Kennedy on Mondav and Poland on Wednesday.BaseballThe baseball team had a perfect week as they defeated Canfield 13-1 and West Branch 5-3.In the Canfield game, Steve Peterson went four innings and gave up just three hits as he picked up the win with relief help from Randy Pompeo who pitched three innings ofshut out ball.Pacing Howland’s hitting attack was Bruce Deltiarbino who had a perfect four-for-four day at the plate including two triples.Peterson collected three hits and three RBIs to help aidthe Tigers’.The Tigers defcuted West Branch behind Bruce DelGar-bino, who pitched four innings. and recorded the win and Randy Pompeo’s three-inning relief work.The Tiger offense was led by Jeff Rowlands who went four-for-four including a pair of doubles and Steve Peterson’s two RBIs.The track team groomed for sectionals by downing the Hubbard Eagles.
