The strain would probably | kill the barbers, because the team has not had one haircut or shave among It for years.i The club this year is traveling un-i der the management of Grover Cleve-| land Alexander, former National j league pitcher, and is apparently do-i ing well even in the face of an al-| lsged depression. They say that Grover, temperamental disposition and all, is receiving $1,000 a month. This ; includes a beard that he has had to| grow.! The team not only took on a new ! manager, but also purchased the night I lighting equipment from the Mon-j arch team of Kansas City. Little has been trying to get this equipment to I Atchison since last summer, when he I was rained out a half dozen times.I Little, who last season managed i the Atchiron Merchants to a cham-; pionshlp in the N^theast Kansas ! league, will pick the tiest tajent that ' he can find for this game. It is un-| derstood that a number of St. Bene-j diet’s college stars will be in the Atchison lineup.
