The number of Turn ere in the pr^ces^iou roust have been not less than four or fire hundred, They wefo.preeed fed by the German military company, with their brass band, and also by a brass baud^be members of which ware clad in the Turner's Uniform. Banners, bearing the various mottoes aod devices of the Turners, were carried in the procession, and contributed much to the appearance of the spectacle. The ever-beauti-ful American ensign also floated over them, conveying the truthful idea that though Ger-loans by birth, they are American* by heart.Tho compliment paid oar German friends in the -last sentence is well deserved. They are moat decidedly American in their feelings and sympathies, and do class cf cilitens evince a deeper devotion to libera) principles, or are more ready to defend them when assailed.
