All three games would he played in Quebec City.Later, however, he said that an Edmonton-Quebec series would still have to he sanctioned by a vote of the CAHA board of directors.In St. Catharines, the Black Hawks packed up their hockey gear and started taking the ice out of their arena.Fred Muller, Hawks dent, said he and coach Frank Milne along with only five players were prepared to go hack to Quebec City. The other players and their parents refused to go back.The Hawk players were pelted with debris both on the ice and later, in the team bus following Saturday's game in Quebec City. The Hawk management said Thursday they were still willing to play a sixth game in Montreal but would not take the team toQuebec City.Muller said earlier he has received death threats and that “one detective in QuebecCitv told me that thev are* «helpless m the situation because they are dealing witha small group of radicals who carry knives, guns and grenades.”“The lives of our hockey players are in danger,” Muller said.“We ve had threatening phone calls to the parents of our players and to the executive of our club.”Paul Dumont, general director of the Remparts said the team “had trouble in Charlottetown last year,” and “we did not want to go back.”“The CAHA made us, and there was no trouble at all. 1 can't see why St. Catharines won’t play.”One St. Catharines sportswriter said Thursdav. without naming names, that the parents of eight Black Hawks, some of whom attended the Quebec game, have refused to allow their sons to play there again.The St. Catharines management was also disturbed over Remparts’ willingness to play ? series against Edmonton for the Memorial Cup. emblematicof junior hockey supremacy in Canada.Hawk vice-president Kensaid:had a firm agreement between Ontario and Quebecassociations that we would notplay the west for the Memorial Cup this year.
