Liebtag. 72, of 6631 Bramble avenue, to Longview hospital by Probate CourtThe Westwood Commons presented an animated picture Thursday, when kitds of every description could be seen flying over the wooded sections of the suburb. The occasion was a kiteflying contest between the Westwood and Washburn schools, and when the points were counted It was found that' Westwood had 30 points, while Prln-i clpal Bam. T. Logan1* school registered J 19 points. There were kites shaped like biplanes and monoplanes, box kites, butterflies, five and six-pointed stars, triangles and the old-fashioned bow kites, and the old-time bow kites captured most of the honors. JamesFlinchbaugh of- Westwood won the altitude-record, as his kite was flying ai 38 degrees on 1,146 feet of cord, giving the altitude as 705 feet Alfred Hausfelt of Washburn led in the matter of distance, as he had 2,400 feet of cord on his machine. His bow kite was flying at an angle of 17 degrees, which, the Judges decided, meant an altitude of 701 feet for the kite Chester Eggara and Edward Dornette of Westwood manned a box kite on 1,300 feat of cord at an altitude of 669 feet. Thera also were a great many unique designs in winding machines. William Ball-meyer of Westwood had the sprocket of an old bicycle attached to his machine, and when he started to wind it op that kite started home suddenly.
