BASEBALL AMES THIS WEEK,Algona Brownlct mid Sioux Pnlln Club to Meet on Algoiia Diamond To-morrow and Friday—TtvoGreat Games Expected.With the exception of two players, all of the Members of the Algona Brownies have arrived and are quartered in the old Algona Hotel across the street from the public library, Richardson and Foster are the only players yet to report and they are expected here by early train. Robinson, the Brownies’ crack first baseman, arrived yesterday morning and will be in the opening games Thursday and Friday against the Sioux Falls team. This man is recommended to the Association as one of the fastest first basemen in the country as well as a hard sticker., The games scheduled for Sioux Falls were prevented by rain and the team came home Monday evening. They go to Sioux City for games next Saturday and Sunday and then to Sioux Falls.All of the new men will be in the games hei’e Thursday and Friday and a big attendance is expected at the opening games. Davis, a new pitcher, has been signed and he and Holland, the well known Waseca pitcher of last season, will be the pitchers for Algona in the opening games. Davis has a great reputation in Chicago, where he has been pitching for the past two years. His record of two weeks ago againstthe Chicago Maroons, one of the strongest, semi-professional teams in that city, when he struck out eleven of the twelve men that faced him in four innings, is considered phenomenal. He is only 18 years old and proves to be a find as a pitcher. Everybody here knows that Holland is a No. 1 pitcher. The probable line-up of the team will be; “Rat” Johnson, catcher; Holland and Davis, pitchers; Robinson, first base; Richardson, 'second base, Toney, shortstop; Talbert, third base; Barton, left field; Moore, center field, and Willis Jones right field. Bert Jones and Horn, last season’s pitchers, are here for the season. From the reputation the players have individually the Algona Brownies will be one of the hardest hitting teams in the west, as every man is a sticker.Everybody should see the opening games tomorrow and Friday and start the season with plenty of enthusiasm. Games will be called promptly at 3:15,
