The three-time state champion Burger Chefettes girl softball team )will open their 1969 season this Sunday, May 11th. They will be playing a twinbill with the McFarling “Chics” (formerly West Vigo Wildcats) at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Terre Haute Softball Stadium, 1103 South First St. The Chesettes will again be under the direction of Helen Taylor and the Chics will be un der the direction of Helen's sis ter, Doris Jasper Both of these teams have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming season and should be ready come Sunday evening. A large crowd is expected and there is no charge at the softball stadium but a donation taken. On the mound for the Chesettes will be the veteran Ruth Ann Jones in one game and the oth er game is undecided at pres ent while on the hill for the Chief will probably be Eileen Murdock and Nila Elkins.
