Aloysius winning, 15-12.St William’s softball team won its opening game from St. Teresa’s, 11-10. -Susan Penderghast, pitcher for the winners, pitched an excellent game, striking out nine. At the end of the sixth the score was8-7; in the first of the seventh St Teresa’s scored three runs to go into the lead. The lead, how-iver, was short lived; with two onbase, Jeanne Rose Gerth hit ahome run to win the game.St William’s also won over Holy Family, 10-9. In the seventh inning Holy Family was leading9-4, but in the last of the seventh St William’s retaliated by scoring five runs on Cecilia Elsaesser’shomer gnd Jeanne Rose Gerth’s grand slam to tie the score. Jeanne Rose Gerth came through again in the last inning to hit another home run and win the game.
