Hargrave Must Decide On Inaugural LineupWill Know More Definitely After Games Saturday And Sunday With House Of David And Hartford Giants.BY EARL COUGHLIN.Bubbles HARGRAVE today has a pretty fair idea as to how his team will take the field for next Tuesday’s inaugural in Rock Island, but he will wait until after Saturday’s game with the House of David club, and Sunday's engagement with the Hartford colored Giants of Chicago before definitely deciding on his opening lineup. Meanwhile the foreman is concentrating on hitting practice, and yesterday’s abbreviated session was given over almost entirely to stick work.Starting with the catching andthen roaming to the outfield, it looks like Hargrave himself will go behind the log in the pennant getaway, and that the outer beats will be patrolled by Bill MIzeur in left, Tommy Leonard in center and Joe Burris in right. There is a possibility, however, that Joe Lindl will break into one of the garden posts It is reasonably certain that the second base territory will be in the hands of Harold Anderson at short, and Howard Getchcll on the other side of the bag. Anderson apparently has his job nailed down forkeeps while Getchcll has shown that he knows how' to get around his sector of the combat area.Undecided At Third.Whether it will be Jerry Stand-aert or Cliff Kuhnke at third base remains to be seen. One guess is that the veteran Standaert will get the call, but that Is purely our own guess.First base will be turned over either to A1 Larson or Ace Elliott, and so far Hargrave has refrained from uttering anything of a definite nature as to whom he favors. He must decide between the rated aged but hard-hitting Elliott, or the brilliant-fielding, 20-year-old Larson The latter has shown sensational form defensively, and of late has been driving the ball to all pastures. If he continues^ hitting, it is the belief of sideline observers that he will get the call.The manager has yet to make any clear cut decisions regarding his pitchers. Bill Wilson, John Tate and Red Van Fleet for the present at least appear to be fixtures, but it is probable that additional hurdlers will be engaged before the season is far advanced. Victor Krupar, another veteran caster, still is bidding for regular employment, and several rookies are in hopes that they will make the grade.Meet Fast Opposition.Saturday’s game with the House of David will give Hargrave a better line on his men. The Bearded team, with victories over major and double A league teams this spring, is a formidable aggregation, and aside from Babe Didrikson, famous woman athlete, who will pitch part of the game, the club is composed of finished diamond artists. And for that matter the Babe herself is said to be some shakes as a ball player on her own account.
