LOWELL CLUB SHOWS POWERLeaguers Give Demonstration of Stuff, Beating House of David, 5 to 3Vic Leeourt's Lowell Northeastern league team got away to a good start last night by. defeating- the classy House of David. 5 to 3 in an unusually fast game played at Lau-rier park. Manager Humiefleld set a good example for his charges by collecting three singles in three trips and handled his only chance at the hot corner with apparent ease. Whiskers Lead Off Despite overhanging clouds and the threat of showers, the teams took the field and started the game 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled 6 o’clock. The House of David got away to one run in the first when Shadowen beat out a bunt to first, went to third on Forman’s single and came home on Beazley’s high fly to left.The Leeourtmen came right back and tallied three runs in tbeir half. Begos walked, Hunnefteld singled and went to third on an error with Begos scoring. Buddy Galvin singled to score Hunnefteld and went to third when Donovan also singled. Galvin . was on his. toes and stole home when the rival hurler apparently forgot ahout him. / Lowell Wraps It lTp After the first inning scores, neither team showed, any real batting . punch, ' until the sixth, whenLowell scored two runs on an error, two singles, a wild pitch and a double steal with Donovan on the scoring end.
