Dixon claims Midvale featureMIDVALE — Doc Dixon of Sherrodsville took the lead midway through the 30-lap late model feature and maintained the advantage to claim first place in auto racing action at Midvale Speedway Saturday night.Dixon overcame Tim Johnston of New Philadelphia on the 15th lap and then held off Joe Nign of Leesville for top honors. Rich Rohrer of Canton placed third, Johnston was fourth and Greg Galigher of Bowerston was fifth.In other late model racing. Galigher won the dash. Randy Gray of Uhrichsville claimed the first heat, Ed Nelson of Canton copped the second and Rohrer paced the third. Craig Lindamood of Canton was the pursuit winner.In spectator stock action, Kenny Carroll of New Philadelphia earned a victory in the feature event, his first of the season.Jay Diegmiller of Canton took the honors in the first heat and Ken Miskimen of New Philadelphia won the second. The pursuit was won by Jay Yosick of Bowerston.In figure eight competitition, Jerry Adkins of Killbuck drove to his second victory of the season in the the first of two feature races. Bill Coventry of Scio placed second and Chuck Harris of Canton was third.In the second 15-lap figure eight chase, Rich McKim of Kimbolton claimed his first victory while J R. Ridgeway of Uhrichsville placed second and Craig Coventry of Scio finished third.
