Winners ReportedCHARLOTTE — A crowd of 1,700 witnessed the stock car races unreeled at Metrolina Speedway here Friday night. The track is currently in a financial bind and needs to average 2,500 fans during the next two races to remain open.Dale Earnhardt of Kannapolis won the Sportsman race Friday night and was followed, in order, by Bosco Lowe, Don Miller, Glenn Jarrett and Jimmy Griffin.The Limited Sportsman race was won by A1 Hill, and he was followed by Gray Brookshire, Roger Starnes, Lowe Smith and Jim Brewer.Mike Sherrill won the street division race over Jeff Sipe and Dan Sykes, who finished second and third.Roger Hamby drove a Vega tovictory in the special Baby Grand race. Larry Pearson was second and the top duo was followed by Jerry Rhyner, Larry Caudel and J.V. Reins.
