Juckes; executive-director of the association, announced today that the national' office in Winnipeg had received a tola] of .199 Notices of Motion to be dealt with at the meeting. Of those, 49.apply toj the playing rules and • 150 . are' proposals to alter ‘and amend: the association^; constitution, regulations and by-laws. During the week-long convention, the association.-,will also elect officers for the coming season, hold meetings of * the rules, senior, junior,* intermediate and minor hockey committees.At the first plenary session on Monday, president'Earl Dawson of Rivers,. Man. will give his presidential report of the^ past year’s activities’. It is expected his report will also contain recommendations regarding the overall structure and adminis-tration or the national body.Following the president’s report wilt be the register’s report and ! financial statements covering I the last fiscal year ending : March 31, 1969. The delegates will then get down to consideration of the many notices ofmotion.Many important decisions face the gathering and again the main item will be the age limit for junior hockey; Nine separate ! notices of motion have been ! received on this particularmatter. Other important items are regulations- - -dealing with branch to branch transfers, strenthcning of teams, powers ahcl*. duties of the executive committee.Playing rules of the association will come under the .scrutiny of the CAHA rules committee, headed by W. J. Anderson cf Trail, B.C. Many of the 49 proposals are aimed at tidying Tip present rules and making them more explicit. One major suggestion, however, is that the. present rule covering the size of the goal-crease be amended to provide for a circular’ goal-crease which would in turn enlarge the crease from 32 square feet to 39.28 square feet. The rules committee will also consider suggestions regarding the'safety equipment and new equipment for play under the CAHA.TbevAlberta amateur Hockey Association, unde r the co-chaihnanship of AAHA president Joe Kryczkn and CAHA ; past-prcsidcnt.
