RAIDERS MEET HOUSE OF DAVID SATURDAYPowerful Traveling Outfit Features Babe Didrikson; Has Beaten Two Major League Clubs.While concentrating on the season's opening game in Rock Island next Tuesday, the Raiders today began smoothing out their defenses and attacking weapons for exhibition games against powerful opposition Saturday and Sunday.The Saturday engagement will find Bub Hargrave’s cohorts in combat with the House of David team, featuring the famous Babe Didrikson, world’s greatest woman athlete, who will pitch part of the game for the Bearded Wonders.While Miss Didrikson is the featured member of the squad, the team otherwise is composed of men who have played class A or double A ball, and among the victims to date this year are the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-6: the St. Louis Browns, 3-2; St. Paul of the American association. 5-1; Rochester of the International league, 5-1, and Oakland of the Pacific Coast league. 3-0.House of David teams for years have been noted for their strong aggregations, and this season’s outfit is said to be the fastest in the organization’s history.Among the club’s stars is First Baseman Slick Cross. He hit forty-three home runs last year, and is said to be fully qualified to play in the majors if he so desired The game will be started at 2:30 Saturday with an admission price of 40 cents for adults, 10 cents for children There will be no extra fee for the grandstand. ♦On Sunday the Raiders will meet the Hartford Giants, a strong colored traveling team of Chicago.
